This page explains how to delete your Panotxa account and what happens to your data when you do. It applies to the Panotxa app on Android and iOS and to the web app atapp.panotxa.com.
1. Delete your account from inside the app
This is the fastest way and every user can do it:
- Open Panotxa and sign in.
- Open the You tab (the last icon in the bottom bar).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm that it is you — with your password, or with Confirm with Google and delete /Confirm with Apple and delete if that is how you sign in.
- Tap Delete my account.
Deletion starts immediately and cannot be undone. You are signed out everywhere, and signing up again with the same address creates a completely new, empty account.
2. Delete your account by email
If you cannot reach the app — you lost the device, or you sign in with a provider that is not available on the device you have — write to[email protected] from the email address of the account and ask us to delete it. We use that address to check the request is yours, and we answer within 30 days, normally much sooner.
3. If you subscribe, cancel the subscription separately
A subscription bought through Google Play or the App Store is held by that store, not by us.Deleting your Panotxa account does not cancel it and does not stop future charges.Cancel it first in Google Play or in the App Store, then delete your account.
4. Take a copy with you first
Deletion is permanent, so export first if you want your history. In the You tab, use Export my data (CSV). We email you a link to a zip of CSV files; the link works for 24 hours.
5. What is deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account itself: email address, display name and password.
- Every meal you logged — photos, descriptions, dish and meal scores, extracted food signals, calories and macros, corrections, notes and recommendations.
- The meal photos in our object storage, not only their database records.
- Your conversations with the in-app nutritionist assistant.
- Habits and body data: water and movement entries, weigh-ins and body-fat entries, including anything imported from Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Your weekly focus goals and your long-term metrics.
- Any connection with a nutrition or training professional, including the notes and comments that professional wrote about you.
- Public share links you created — they stop working immediately.
- Push-notification tokens for your devices.
Nothing identifying survives by default: no hashed email address, and no aggregate that could be traced back to you.
6. What is kept, and for how long
- Server logs and error reports can contain an IP address and the URLs requested. They exist to keep the service secure and working. Server logs are deleted after 90 days; error reports on their own retention schedule.
- Database backups are daily copies kept for up to 60 days, so your data leaves them within 60 days of the deletion.
- A data-export file you requested shortly before deleting is removed automatically 24 hours after it was created.
- Emails you sent us are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and, where relevant, to show that we did.
- Where the law requires a record to be kept — an invoice, for instance — we keep only that record, for the period the law sets.
Anything Panotxa wrote into Apple Health or Health Connect stays in those apps, on your phone. Delete it there if you want it gone.
7. Deleting only part of your data
You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something. Individual meals, dishes, photos, habit entries and weigh-ins can be deleted in the app, and disconnecting a professional ends their access immediately. For anything else, write to[email protected].
What we process and why is set out in full in the privacy policy.
